A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE twenty-second SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $30,776,000, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 2003-2004, for the following capital improvements in the twenty-second senatorial district:

1. Hale Kula Elementary School

Electrical upgrades to campus $396,000

Replacement of sump pump sewer lines $300,000

Replacement of corroded sewer lines $200,000

Resurfacing of parking lot $150,000

Total Funding $1,046,000

2. Helemano School

Renovation of administration building and new library $5,000,000

Basketball and volleyball courts $250,000

Total funding $5,250,000

3. Iliahi Elementary School

Air conditioning/ventilation system $300,000

4. Kaala Elementary School

Data/voice/video conduit for cafeteria $15,000

Covered walkway for building A $200,000

Covered walkway for building B $200,000

Air conditioning for building D25 $20,000

Air conditioning for building H $150,000

Total funding $585,000

5. Leilehua High School

Construction of two-story, eight-classroom building $1,200,000

Recrowning of stadium field, drainage renovations $250,000

Varsity locker room $1,500,000

Culinary kitchen $200,000

Total funding $3,150,000

6. Mililani Middle School

Covered playcourts/bus shelter area $25,000

Tinting for large windows on classroom buildings $70,000

7. ORI Anuenue Hale, Inc.

Construction of complex for elder day care, health and wellness center, and other facilities that meets ADA requirements $2,500,000

8. Solomon Elementary School

New library and multi-functional building

Equipment $330,000

Design $120,000

Construction $1,250,000

Total funding $1,700,000

9. Sunset Beach Elementary School

Administration building $5,000,000

Playground equipment $100,000

Total funding $5,100,000

10. Wahiawa Elementary School

Two-story facility

Plans and Design $200,000

Construction $1,300,000

Total funding $1,500,000

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized in this Act, shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2006, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated for the capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
