A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE eleventh SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $10,199,557, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2003-2004, for the following capital improvements in the eleventh senatorial district:

1. Roosevelt High School, Honolulu

A. Handicap Ramps – Drop-off and school evacuation areas on Nehoa and Mott-Smith Street side of campus.

B. Handicap Ramps - Stadium and auditorium accessibility (ramps leading to and around the stadium).

C. Ground and site improvements to the Multi-Purpose Patio fronting the school.

e. Security fences around certain areas of campus

A. Rewiring of existing "Electrical System, Phases 1 and 2".

d. Erect six-foot high chain link fence around the perimeter of the school.

b. Upgrading of telephone system to provide better service to parents and give teachers immediate access to the office and 911.

C. Replacement of the Public Address System to be able to communicate on a school-wide level for emergency purposes and as needed.

7. Lincoln Elementary School, Honolulu

a. Design and installation of insulation and air conditioning in all thirty-five classrooms in buildings A, B, D, E, F, and G.

A. Teacher parking lot along Piikoi Street with fence to promote public safety.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized in this Act, shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2006, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated for the capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
