A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE sixteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $16,255,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2003-2004, for the following capital improvements in the sixteenth senatorial district:

1. Aiea high school

A. Construction and equipment for converting portion of buildings into a computer lab $ 230,000

B. Construction of an access road and parking stalls around back of campus $1,200,000

2. Aiea intermediate school

A. Electrical upgrade of campus $ 900,000

B. Installation of security gates for school's entrance $ 20,000

C. Construction of three portable buildings $ 450,000

D. Upgrade of cafeteria and dining areas $ 500,000

E. Replacement of library rug $ 300,000

3. Pearl Ridge elementary school

Expansion of cafeteria $ 950,000

4. Waimalu elementary school

Replacement of classroom building and portable classrooms $5,000,000

5. Manana elementary school

A. Renovation of building C restroom $ 160,000

B. Renovation of building H restroom $ 160,000

C. Renovation of building A restroom $ 160,000

D. Replacement of louvre handware for building O $ 70,000

E. Replacement of louvre handware for building A $ 70,000

F. Replacement of louvre handware for building C $ 70,000

G. Replacement of louvre handware for building H $ 70,000

H. Replacement of louvre handware for building F $ 70,000

6. Highlands intermediate school

A. Extension of bandroom $ 600,000

B. Installation of chain link fence and gates along borders of school property $ 55,000

7. Momilani elementary school

A. Design and construction of a moss rock wall $ 600,000

B. Design and construction of landscape and sprinkler system in playground field $ 180,000

8. Palisades elementary school

A. Re-roofing of building A $ 180,000

B. Re-roofing of building B $ 180,000

9. Pearl City elementary school

A. Installation of air conditioning system for classrooms $ 350,000

B. Re-roofing of cafeteria and kitchen $ 200,000

10. Kanoelani elementary school

A. Replacement of exhaust vent in cafeteria building $ 30,000

B. Re-roofing of building and installation of solar fans $ 85,000

C. Re-roofing of portable classrooms and installation of solar fans $ 140,000

11. Pearl City highlands elementary school

Upgrade of electrical system $ 375,000

12. Aiea public library

Land acquisition to relocate the library $2,900,000

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
