A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE twenty-first SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $18,289,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2003-2004, for the following capital improvements in the twenty-first senatorial district:

1. Nanakuli IV

Equipment costs not included in CIP

or DAGS lists $200,000

Design fees for student support center

Lanai area $100,000

Playground equipment $150,000

Total funding $450,000

2. Nanakuli high and intermediate school

Feasibility study & design of existing

PE or new facilities

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unencumbered as of June 30, 2005, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1, with the exception of items 8 and 9.A., shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act. The sum appropriated for items 8 and 9.A. in section 1 shall be expended by the department of transportation for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
