A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to health.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The legislature finds and declares that the appropriation of moneys under this Act for a grant-in-aid to Saint Francis Healthcare System, for the Maui Renal Dialysis Center, is in the public interest and for the public health, safety, and general welfare.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $750,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2003-2004, for a grant-in-aid to Saint Francis Healthcare System, for the Maui Renal Dialysis Center.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of health for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
