A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to Higher Education.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1,500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2003-2004, and the same sum, or so much therefor as may be necessary for fiscal year 2004-2005, as state matching funds required for the National Science Foundation Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) grant application to be submitted by the University of Hawaii in support of the Biodiversity in an Integrated Island Environment project.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
