A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 92, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding to part I a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§92- Board members who have not yet assumed office. Any person elected or appointed to serve as a member of a board who has not yet assumed the duties of office shall conform that person's conduct to the requirements of this chapter and shall be treated for purposes of enforcement of this chapter as if that person had already assumed office."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
