HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

HONORING THE U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION'S 2004 SMALL BUSINESSPERSONS OF THE YEAR.

 

WHEREAS, the legislature is always proud to honor those who contribute to the vitality of our State and its economy through their dedication to service, vision, creativity, and ethical business practices; and

WHEREAS, small business is the essence of our free enterprise system, and it is through the initiative and resourcefulness of diligent entrepreneurs that the citizens of Hawaii enjoy a quality of life unequaled in any other country in the world; and

WHEREAS, the U.S. Small Business Administration's annual awards are bestowed upon advocates and entrepreneurs who have contributed to the promotion of small business and an improved small business environment; and

WHEREAS, the U.S. Small Business Administration seeks to honor a variety of individuals who work in all aspects of small business, recognizing the myriad types of small businesses that thrive in Hawaii; and

WHEREAS, the legislature is proud to honor the 2004 awardees, who have improved the quality of life in Hawaii by enhancing our economy and ensuring that the best products and services are available at the best prices to the people of Hawaii; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2004, that this body hereby honors the 2004 Small Business Administration awardees: Peter Robson and Randy Finlay, Small Business Persons of the Year; Phoebe Lambeth, Women in Business Advocate of the Year; Virginia Cho, Small Business Exporter of the Year; Ruth Corn, Small Business Research Advocate; Cathy S. Cruz, Small Business Journalist of the Year; Rann Watumull, Financial Services Advocate of the Year; and Robin Joy Puanani Danner, Minority Small Business Advocate of the Year, commends them for their contributions to small businesses in Hawaii, and extends to them its best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
