A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to campaign spending records.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Section 11-195, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:

"(d) All reports filed with the county clerk's office [shall be preserved] for an election period may be discarded by that office [for ten years.] upon the filing of the final report for that election period; provided that the county clerk has electronically transmitted a true and correct copy or sent the original and one copy, of all reports for that election period to the commission."

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
