A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to drug enforcement.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The department of public safety is authorized to establish and fill nine full-time equivalent (9.00 FTE) permanent investigator positions within the narcotics enforcement division of the department. The positions shall be subject to chapter 76, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $       or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2004-2005 for nine permanent investigators within the narcotics enforcement division of the department of public safety.

The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of public safety for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
