A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirtieth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2004-2005.
1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Dole intermediate school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction of two special education classes by utilizing current unused shop class. New classroom space would provide private changing room and shower facilities for incontinent students as well as a large physical therapy area. Renovation also includes installation of A/C, room dividers, tile flooring, electrical upgrades and lights, and kitchenette.

Design, purchase, and installation of student physical education lockers.

Plans, design, and construction to install a tartan surface track at Kusunoki field.

D. Farrington high school, Oahu
Planning, design, and construction of physical education, locker rooms, and sports training facility at site of existing swimming pool. Girls have no P.E. locker facilities and training facilities are deteriorated.

E. Kalihi elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction to replace the playground equipment, repave the area, and install padded groundcover under the equipment at upper field.

A. Kalihi valley natural history park, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for the development of Kalihi valley natural history park.

3. To be expended by the city and county of Honolulu:
A. Kalihi street between Monte street and Numana road, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for asphalt sidewalk improvements on Kalihi street between Monte street and Numana road.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
