A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2004-2005, for the school of medicine at the University of Hawaii to establish a dental outreach residency pilot program to allow dental students from schools of dentistry on the mainland to serve in community health centers in rural areas of the State, with native Hawaiian communities, and other special population groups; provided that the school of medicine shall be authorized to implement the dental outreach residency pilot program through a contract with a non-profit agency; and provided further that the funds shall provide for full-time equivalent positions for an executive director and clerical staff exempt from chapter 76.
SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
