A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the forty-fourth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2004-2005.
1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Nanakuli high and intermediate school
Design and construction of sidewalk
improvements along Haleakala avenue
and along Nanakuli avenue, respectively,
along the length of the school property.
Design $ 30,000
Construction 300,000
Total Funding $330,000
B. Waianae coast comprehensive health center
Design and construction of a three-
story medical/training facility with
matching funds from private foundations,
individuals, and federal grants.
Design $ 250,000
Construction 2,222,520
Total Funding $2,472,520
2. To be expended by the department of transportation:
Mauka highway, Makaha to Nanakuli, Oahu
Plans for the development of a mauka
highway, including an environmental
impact statement for a mauka highway as
an alternative route to Farrington highway
from Makaha to Nanakuli.
Plans $1,000,000
Total Funding $1,000,000
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2007, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agencies for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
