A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

making an appropriation for PUBLIC SCHOOL teacher bonuses.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2004-2005, for public school teacher bonuses; provided that such bonuses shall be expended only if state revenues for fiscal year 2003-2004 exceed $ .

The director of finance shall provide the necessary revenue data to the department of education who shall then determine based solely on the reported revenue data, whether public school teacher bonuses shall be expended under this Act.

The department of education may adopt rules pursuant to chapter 91 to effectuate this Act.

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2004.
