HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

H.B. NO.

TWENTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE, 2004

STATE OF HAWAII

A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO THE MOLOKAI IRRIGATION SYSTEM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The legislature finds that the Molokai irrigation system requires immediate capital improvements to efficiently manage its current water resources. During the 2003 session, the legislature supported efforts to improve the Molokai irrigation system's long-term needs by appropriating funds to identify new water sources. While long-term planning is important to ensure future water needs, the legislature finds that immediate improvements are necessary to sustain and maximize the existing water resources within the system. Therefore, the purpose of this Act is to support efforts to make immediate improvements to the Molokai irrigation system by amending its existing appropriation in the 2003-2005 biennium Budget Act.

SECTION 2. Act 200, Session Laws of Hawaii 2003, is amended by amending section 77, item A. 3. to read as follows:

"3. MOLOKAI IRRIGATION SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS, MOLOKAI
