A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to light pollution.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 183C, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§183C- Light pollution on ocean waters. The department shall adopt rules under chapter 91 prohibiting the emanation of any light on adjacent ocean waters by residential properties in coastal areas of the conservation district. Violation of these rules may result in penalties authorized under section 183C-7."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
