A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to THE OFFICE OF THE LEGISLATIVE ANALYSt.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Section 21F-6, Hawaii Revised Statutes, established the office of the legislative analyst in 1990. However, the establishment of the office has never been implemented. The purpose of this Act is to fund the office of the legislative analyst.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $          , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2003-2004, for start-up costs for the office of the legislative analyst, including salaries, equipment, and supplies.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the legislature for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
