A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

making an appropriation For the friends of waipahu cultural garden park.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The legislature finds and declares that the appropriation of moneys under this Act for a grant-in-aid for the Friends of Waipahu Cultural Garden Park to provide for ongoing programs at Hawaii's Plantation Village is in the public interest and for the public health, safety, and general welfare.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $75,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2003-2004, for a grant-in-aid for the Friends of Waipahu Cultural Garden Park to provide for ongoing programs at Hawaii's Plantation Village; provided that no funds shall be made available under this Act unless the Friends of Waipahu Cultural Garden Park provide a dollar for dollar match for the purpose for which this sum is appropriated.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act; provided that moneys appropriated shall only be expended for programs and supplies and shall not be used for personnel costs.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
