A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the forty-second representative district.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2003-2004.

1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

A. Ewa elementary school

Electrical upgrade, lights in parking lot, window replacement, air conditioning.

Design $ 450,000

Construction 3,250,000

Total Funding $ 3,700,000

B. Campbell high school

Electrical upgrade, air conditioning.

Design $ 1,900,000

Construction 18,250,000

Total Funding $20,150,000

C. Waipahu intermediate school

Additional classroom buildings, extension of library parking lot.

Design $ 115,000

Construction 3,280,000

Equipment 100,000

Total Funding $ 3,495,000

D. Waipahu high school

1. Replacement of air conditioning unit.

Plans $ 4,000

Construction 100,000

Equipment 120,000

Total Funding $ 224,000

2. Replacement of fence surrounding school.

Plans $ 1,000

Construction 12,000

E. Ewa beach elementary school

1. Conversion of kitchen and dining hall into classrooms and office space, equipment, ground and site improvements.

2. To be expended by the department of transportation:

A. Kapolei parkway

Planning, design, and construction of parkway extension.

Extension of boulevard.

C. North south road

Phases I and II from Kapolei parkway to H-1 freeway.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
