A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-second Representative district.

 

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2003-2004.

1. To be expended by the Department of Accounting and General Services:

A. Aliamanu Elementary School

(1) Extension of school office including

electrical system upgrade 325,000

Total Funding 325,000

B. Aliamanu Middle School

(1) Complete upgrade of electrical system 350,000

(2) Repave basketball/volleyball courts 240,000

Total Funding 590,000

C. Hickam Elementary School

(1) Renovate/expand administration

offices 1,100,000

(2) Renovate/expand library 1,210,000

(3) Install phones and wiring 60,119

Total Funding 2,370,119

D. Makalapa School

(1) Replace program bell and fire

alarm system 75,000

(2) Re-roof Buildings F & C 100,000

Total Funding 175,000

E. Moanalua Middle School

(1) Renovate classroom to science lab 3,210,000

(2) Renovate all classroom electrical

outlets and connections, and have

Moanalua in compliance with the

State Fire Council 75,000

Total Funding 3,285,000

F. Moanalua Elementary School

(1) Plan, design and construct an eight

classroom building for the art

and science learning center 800,000

(2) Expand library 150,000

Total Funding 950,000

G. Mokulele Elementary school

(1) Design, install and maintain air

conditioning in all classrooms 500,000

(2) Design and resurface playcourt 50,000

(3) Design and construct handicapped

accessible ramp at Aupaka St. entrance 8,000

(4) Design and install automatic sprinkler

system on playfield 100,000

(5) Purchase and install voice mail system 7,000

Total Funding 665,000

H. Nimitz Elementary School

(1) Design and construct playground

equipment 85,000

(2) Design and construct air conditioning

for buildings A, C & D with

electrical upgrade 1,500,000

Total Funding 1,585,000

I. Pearl Harbor Kai Elementary

(1) Parking lot enhancement 150,000

Total Funding 150,000

J. Radford High School

(1) Replace classroom furniture 80,000

(2) Design, construct and equip

multi-purpose classroom to expand food

service program 200,000

Total Funding 280,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
