A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the third representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2003-2004:

1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

A. Judiciary building, Hawaii

Construction for a new court facility.

Construction $30,000,000

Total funding $30,000,000

B. Waiakea elementary school, Hawaii

Design, construction, and equipment for administration and library buildings.

Design $325,000

Construction $3,250,000

Equipment $150,000

Total funding $3,725,000

C. Waiakea elementary school, Hawaii

Design and construction for a covered playcourt.

Design $100,000

Construction $1,500,000

Total funding $1,600,000

D. Waiakeawaena elementary school, Hawaii

Design, construction, and equipment for renovation of the cafetorium to include expansion of the student dining room, kitchen, and ground and site improvements.

Design $100,000

E. Waiakea high school, Hawaii

Plans, design, and construction for a community school all-weather track for east Hawaii.

Plans, design, and equipment for construction of a community-built restroom.

Plans and design for east Hawaii alternative roads.

C. Kawailani street, Hawaii

Land acquisition and construction to replace the Kawailani street bridge.

D. Panaewa park, Hawaii

Design and construction for a covered playcourt; provided that no funds shall be made available unless the county of Hawaii provides $320,000 for the purpose for which this sum is appropriated.

E. Malama park, Hawaii

Plans, design, and construction for expansion of Malama park to include the opening of more play space; provided that no funds shall be made available unless the county of Hawaii provides $7,000 for the purpose for which this sum is appropriated.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
