A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

making an appropriation for the "roads in Limbo" Program in hawaii county.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $2,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2003-2004, to repair and maintain roads in Hawaii county that were created by or acquired by the State, but for which ownership or jurisdiction is disputed by the county or the State; provided that for every state dollar appropriated, $1 in matching funds shall be provided by the county of Hawaii, other sources, or a combination of both. State funds shall be released only to the extent that matching funds have been obtained.

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii county department of public works for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
