A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capitol improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-third representative district.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2003-2004.

A. Aiea public library (Oahu)

Land acquisition for land at the former Aiea sugar mill site for relocation of the Aiea public library.

Land acquisition $2,900,000

Total funding $2,900,000

B. Aiea intermediate school (Oahu)

Installation of outlets and upgrade of outlets to allow 220 lines.

Electrical upgrade of campus $ 900,000

Total funding $ 900,000

C. Aiea high school (Oahu)

Convert central area of building J2 and 3 to a computer lab (repair facility and user facility) with support office. Project will include demolishing project area, installing air conditioning, carpet, drop ceiling, light fixtures, additional electrical circuits, outlets, paint, and finishes.

Construction $ 230,000

Total funding $ 230,000

D. Pearl Ridge elementary (Oahu)

Expansion of cafeteria.

Planning, design, and construction $ 950,000

Total funding $ 950,000

E. Waimalu elementary (Oahu)

Build two-story twelve-classroom building; demolish building A and six portables.

Planning, design, and construction $5,000,000

Total funding $5,000,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
