A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO WAIAHOLE-WAIKANE VALLEYS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The legislature finds that the intent of Act 330, Session Laws of Hawaii 1993, was to transfer ten parcels of land in Waiahole-Waikane from the department of land and natural resources to the housing finance and development corporation to provide rental housing and promote diversified agriculture. Despite the best of intentions and for various reasons, this objective never reached fruition.

The purpose of this Act is to return the land and title of these ten parcels that was transferred to the housing finance and development corporation under Act 330, Session Laws of Hawaii 1993, back to the department of land and natural resources.

SECTION 2. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the ten parcels of land in Waiahole and Waikane valleys that were conveyed from the department of land and natural resources to the housing finance and development corporation, under Act 330, Session Laws of Hawaii 1993, are re-conveyed back to the department of land and natural resources. The re-conveyance includes the same ten parcels of land transferred under Act 330, Session Laws of Hawaii 1993, and are as follows:

(9) 4-8-07:11 62.5 acres

(10) 4-8-07:12 5.0 acres

The department of land and natural resources shall be responsible for properly documenting the change in title for the ten parcels of land under this Act.

SECTION 3. Act 330, Session Laws of Hawaii 1993, is repealed.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
