Ms. Patricia Hamamoto, Superintendent
Department of Education
In 1994, the Department of Education embarked upon a systemic reform initiative, the Comprehensive Student Support System (CSSS), to ensure all students receive the necessary supports to achieve high academic standards. CSSS attempts to address the social, emotional, and physical needs of students through an array of support services that range from basic classroom instruction to intensive specialized programs.
House Concurrent Resolution 91, adopted by the Legislature during the 2001 Regular Session requested a comprehensive audit of CSSS. The Auditor and the Superintendent of Education will brief the Committee on the results of the audit and any subsequent action being taken by the Department of Education.
If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public briefing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE CALL THE COMMITTEE CLERK AT 586-6200.
