SB 1553

RELATING TO MORTGAGE BROKERS AND SOLICITORS.

Exempts from the licensing laws for mortgage brokers and solicitors those developers of time share plans who make purchase money loans to purchasers of time share interests in time share plans.

SB 374

RELATING TO REAL ESTATE.

Defines "de minimis structure position discrepancies", and clarifies that the tolerance used to determine whether or not an encroachment falls within the statute is determined by the use of the affected abutting lot.

SB 372

RELATING TO PUBLIC UTILITIES.

Prohibits the Public Utilities Commission from using telephone directory advertising revenues of an organization, trade, or business, to determine regulated rates or charges of a telecommunications carrier in cases where both entities are owned or controlled directly or indirectly by the same interests.

RELATING TO OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS.

Continues the regulation of the practice of occupational therapy by providing for licensure. Deletes provision for temporary permits. Repeals sunset date of December 31, 2003.

RELATING TO PHARMACEUTICAL BENEFIT MANAGEMENT COMPANIES.

Establishes duties and obligations for pharmaceutical benefit management companies who administer or manage prescription drug benefit coverage to their clients.

SB 1313

RELATING TO THE EXAMINATION FOR LICENSURE AS A CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT.

Authorizes the Board of Public Accountancy to utilize computer-based testing.

RELATING TO PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS, ARCHITECTS, SURVEYORS, AND LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS.

Authorizes the Board of Professional Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, and Landscape Architects to adopt rules requiring continuing professional education for design professionals. Clarifies licensing requirements.

SB 1549

RELATING TO PUBLIC ACCOUNTANCY.

Eliminates experience in private or government accounting as a substitute of the two years of professional experience in public accountancy practice that is required for licensure as a public accountant.

RELATING TO THE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER.

Authorizes the Governor, rather than the Director of DCCA, to appoint the Insurance Commissioner, subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.

RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE TOWING.

Places tow charge and storage fees under the jurisdiction of the DCCA.

RELATING TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE RENTAL INDUSTRY.

Allows the payment or receipt of indirect commissions from the sale of collision damage waivers for rental vehicles.

RELATING TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE RENTAL INDUSTRY.

Clarifies how diminution in value of a damaged vehicle is determined under the Motor Vehicle Rental Industry Act.
