A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-first representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2003-2004:
1. Moanalua elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for an eight classroom building to replace existing portable classroom.

Construction $640,000
Total $800,000
2. Moanalua middle school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for renovation of regular classrooms to convert them to science laboratories and classrooms.
Plans $ 50,000
Design $ 400,000
Construction $2,760,000
Total funding $3,210,000
3. Moanalua high school, Oahu
Construction of student bathrooms near portables 7 and 8.
Construction $ 60,000
Total funding $ 60,000
4. Moanalua high school, Oahu
Construction of classroom sinks.
Construction $ 15,000

5. Moanalua high school, Oahu
Construction of outdoor water fountain.
Construction $ 6,000

6. Aliamanu elementary school, Oahu
Plans, design, and construction for a covered play-area for the physical education program.

7. Aliamanu middle school, Oahu
Construction to upgrade electrical system to provide additional power for day-to-day activities and technology-related activities.

Construction to re-pave badly worn basketball and volleyball courts.

9. Salt Lake elementary school, Oahu
Construction to renovate classrooms E-3, E-4, F-1, F-10, and C-1, including construction of permanent interior walls, air conditioning, and partitioning of each classroom into four classrooms.
Construction $3,500,000

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
