A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the ELEVENth representative district.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2003-2004.

1. To be expended by the Department of Accounting and General Services:

A. Kihei High School, Maui

Design, planning, and construction of

Kihei High School. Ground and site

improvements, equipment and appurtenances.

The school will accommodate

additional enrollment growth.

2. To be expended by the Department of Health:

A. Ambulance station in Wailea, Maui

3. To be expended by the Department of Transportation:

A. Construction of new road from Wailea to Mokulele Highway mauka of Piilani Highway, Maui

(1) Planning $

B. Expansion of Piilani Highway to accommodate a

Four-lane highway that complies with federal

and state safety standards

(1) Planning $

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are unnumbered as of June 30, 2004, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
