A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE twenty-second SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $14,412,800, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2001-2002, for the following capital improvements in the twenty-second senatorial district:

1. Hale Kula Elementary School, Oahu

Design and construction for expansion of library and administrative office.

2. Helemano Elementary School, Oahu

Design, construction, and purchase of equipment for a new library; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

3. Iliahi Elementary School, Oahu

Design and construction for the expansion of the parking lot; ground and site improvements; and other related work.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act which are unexpended and unencumbered as of June 30, 2005, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated in items 1 to 12 in section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of the accounting and general services; and the sum appropriated in item 13 of section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of transportation for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2002.
