Appropriates funds for capital improvement projects in the 21st senatorial district.

A BILL FOR AN ACT
MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE twenty-first SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $18,289,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2002-2003, for the following capital improvements in the twenty-first senatorial district:
1. Nanakuli IV
Equipment for archeological mitigation.
Total funding $600,000
2. Nanakuli High and Intermediate School
Feasibility study on replacing or renovating existing PE facilities.
Total funding $580,000
3. Leihoku Elementary School
Build new administration and library building and renovate existing structure into classrooms.
Total funding $4,000,000
4. Waianae Elementary School
Build new administration and ancillary office building and renovate existing structure into classrooms.
Total funding $3,800,000
5. Makaha Elementary School
A. Replace window air conditioning unit with a split system unit.
Total funding $320,000
B. Electrical system upgrade for portable classroom building P10.
Total funding $15,000
C. Renovate building B to make it wheelchair accessible.
Total funding $215,000
5. Kamaile Elementary School
Multi-hand wash station using existing drain.
Total funding $19,000
6. Waianae Intermediate School
A. Electrical system upgrade for administration building and building J.
Total funding $150,000
B. Renovation of a fire lane.
Total funding $300,000
7. Waianae High School
Total funding $1,420,000
8. Farrington Highway
Highway improvements from highway special funds.

9. Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center
A. Redirect traffic flow and construct left turn lane.
Plans, design, and construction
of left hand turn lane – Mailili
Plans, design, and construction
of main driveway entrance signage

B. Re-roof and repair twenty-five year old emergency facility.
Replacement of central air

C. Site development and relocation of existing portables.

SECTION 2. The sum appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1, with the exception of items 8 and 9.A., shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act. The sum appropriated for items 8 and 9.A. in section 1 shall be expended by the department of transportation for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2002.
