Description:

Allows the Director to certify that new or amended administrative rules, policies, standards, guidelines, ordinances, executive orders, directives, or provisions in a collective bargaining agreement are in place, and that the effective dates of the repeal of existing statutes and administrative rules or the effective dates of new statutes and administrative rules shall be the date of certification for a specific jurisdiction. A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO AMENDMENTS TO ACT 253, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 2000.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Act 253, session Laws of Hawaii 2000, is amended by amending section 124 to read as follows:

"SECTION 124. This part shall be repealed on June 30, [2003.] 2008."

SECTION 2. Act 253, Session Laws of Hawaii 2000, as amended by Act 123, Session Laws of Hawaii 2001, is amended by amending section 152 to read as follows:

"SECTION 152. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2002; provided that[;]:

(1) Section 26-5(f), Hawaii Revised Statutes, in [Section] section 2, and [Parts] parts V and IX of this Act shall take effect on July 1, 2000; [and]

(2) Section 132 of this Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001[.]; and

(3) This Act may take effect prior to July 1, 2002, in a jurisdiction where the respective director certifies that new or amended administrative rules, policies, standards, guidelines, ordinances, executive orders, directives, or provisions in a collective bargaining unit are in place, such that the effective dates of repeal of existing statutes and administrative rules or the effective dates of new statutes and administrative rules shall be the date of certification for a specific jurisdiction."

SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on June 30, 2002.
