A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE Twentieth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $28,049,874, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for fiscal year 2001-2002, for the following capital improvements in the twentieth senatorial district:

1. Barber's Point Elementary School, Oahu

a. Design and construction of library air conditioning. $350,000

B. Design and construction of air conditioning for classroom and administration buildings, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I. $3,850,000

C. Install rubberized surfacing beneath five newly installed playground equipment sets. $30,000

D. Design and construction of an accessible pathway from building C to kindergarten playground equipment. $5,000

E. Design and install sprinkler/irrigation system. $125,000

F. Design and construction of paved parking area along Tulagi and Cophaee Street (20 stalls). $53,000

Total funding $4,413,000

2. Campbell High School, Oahu

a. Air conditioning for entire school. $11,143,000

B. Regrading of track. $190,000

C. Parking lot lighting improvements. $100,000

D. Construction of girl's locker room. $3,620,000

E. Installation of permanent bleachers for football field. $3,980,000

F. Renovation of athletic trainers' room. $195,000

G. Four tennis courts. $210,000

H. Scoreboard of softball field. $143,000

I. Scorer's booth for softball field. $45,000

J. Announcer's booth with elevator for football program. $400,000

E. Extend mauka side fire lanes to have access to school. $45,000

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for capital improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all appropriations which are encumbered as of

June 30, 2003, shall lapse as of that date.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended for the purposes of this Act; provided that:

(1) The sums appropriated in items 1 to 18 of section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services;

(2) The sums appropriated in items 19 to 26 of section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the department of transportation; and

(3) The sum appropriated in item 27 of section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the judiciary.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
