HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING KAHUKU HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM AND COACH SIUAKI LIVAI ON THEIR EXCITING TRIUMPH IN WINNING THE 2001 HAWAII'S STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR.

 

WHEREAS, Hawaii's high school athletic coaches are role models and guardians of Hawaii's youth, undertaking great responsibility and commitment to cultivate, nurture, and develop our State's most precious asset: the immeasurable potential of its youth; and

WHEREAS, COACH SIUAKI LIVAI has devoted much professional and personal time, effort, and talent in building the athletic abilities, sportsmanlike conduct, and team spirit of the KAHUKU HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM; and

WHEREAS, on November 30, 2001, the KAHUKU RED RAIDERS VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM defeated St. Louis for the second consecutive year, retaining the Hawaii State Football Championships, affirming that the first championship was not a coincidence; and

WHEREAS, the enormous accomplishment of the KAHUKU HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM, would never have been possible without the encouragement and expertise of COACH SIUAKI LIVAI, a motivational specialist on the field and in the classroom who openly credited all of the Oahu Interscholastic Association football teams for their success; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-first Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2002, that this body hereby congratulates and commends the

KAHUKU HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM and COACH SIUAKI LIVAI on their exciting triumph in the State Football Championship, and extends to them its warmest aloha and best wishes for more championships and further success to the deserving victors.
