RELATING TO SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT.

Imposes beverage container requirements and fees. Requires beverage distributors to register with the State. Establishes the beverage container deposit special fund. Provides for the redemption of empty beverage containers. Provides requirements for recycling facilities and redemption centers. (SD1)

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Establishes a data and research office for children and families in the center on the family at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Appropriates funds. (HB840 HD2)

RELATING TO YOUTH SERVICES.

Clarifies the services of youth services centers. Appropriates funds for youth services centers, including the Hookala diversion lock-up program. (SD1)

RELATING TO THE LEGISLATURE.

Ties the legislator's per diem allowance for intrastate travel to two-thirds of the General Services Administration rate for Hawaii. Ties the legislator's per diem allowance for out-of-state travel to the Federal Travel Regulation and foreign travel to section 925, a supplement to the Department of State Standardized Regulations (Government Civilians, Foreign Areas) (HB143 HD1).

RELATING TO UNCLAIMED PROPERTY.

Allows purchasers of Hawaii State and county issued bonds to claim money such as interest payments and redemption proceeds from the State's Unclaimed Property Program in perpetuity.
