S.B. 2337  RELATING TO PESTICIDES                    LRE/EDU, WAM
        Requires the posting of signs when pesticide is
        applied on school grounds or a playground.

S.B. 2329  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR               LRE/EDU, WAM
        SCHOOL-TO-WORK COORDINATOR/COUNSELORS
        Appropriates $ in general revenues for placement of a
        school-to-work coordinator/counselor in each high
        school to serve the school complex.

S.B. 2159  RELATING TO EDUCATION                     EDU/LRE, WAM
        Establishes a merit pay program under which principals
        are awarded additional pay if their school improves in
        measurable areas of performance.

S.B. 2377  RELATING TO REGISTRARS FOR ADULT          EDU/LRE, WAM
        COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
        Provides civil service status for registrars at the
        Maui, Kona, and Kauai Community Schools for Adults.

        Requires an advance disposal fee for plastic importers
        for plastic containers and plastic litter items.

S.B. 2281  RELATING TO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENTS   LRE, CPN
        Requires that a regulated utility procure the services
        of a qualified environmental consultant to prepare an
        environmental impact statement regarding its proposed
        actions.

S.B. 2611  RELATING TO HABITAT CONSERVATION                   LRE
        Amends habitat conservation law to conform to federal
        regulations.

S.B. 2545  RELATING TO GLASS RECOVERY                    LRE, WAM
        Adds new definition, "import" to glass container
        recovery law.  Changes imposition of penalty from a
        civil to an administrative action.

S.B. 2259  RELATING TO GENETIC INFORMATION               LRE, JDC
        DISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT AND INSURANCE
        Prohibits discrimination in employment due to an
        individual's genetic information or refusal to take or
        submit to a genetic test.  Prohibits requiring genetic
        testing as a prerequisite for health, life, and long-
        term care insurance.

S.B. 2192  RELATING TO THE WHISTLEBLOWER PROTECTION ACT  LRE, JDC
        Clarifying and strengthening the Whistleblowers'
        Protection laws.

least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
