HB 1922    RELATING TO TOBACCO                                JDC
HD1        Prohibits the possession and use of tobacco products
        by minors under eighteen years of age.  Makes the
        penalty for such possession and use $20 for the first
        offense and $50 for subsequent offenses.  Conforms the
        penalty for purchase of tobacco products by minors to
        the penalty for possession of tobacco products by
        minors.  (HB1922 HD1)

HB 1757    RELATING TO HIGHWAY SAFETY                    TIA, JDC
HD1        Removes trailer exemptions from prohibitions relating
        to possession or consumption of intoxicating liquors
        in motor vehicles. (HB1757 HD1)

HB 2691    RELATING TO DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF    TIA, JDC
HD2 SD1    DRUGS
(SB 2638)  Reduces jail time for first offense of driving under
        the influence of drugs by conforming the penalties
        with those provided for driving under the influence of
        intoxicating liquor.  Increases community service work
        hours and fines for second offense.  Increases fines
        and decreases jail term for third offense.  Applies to
        all cases (first, second, and third offenses).  (SD1)

HB 1881    RELATING TO USE OF INTOXICANTS                TIA, JDC
HD2 SD1    Amends driving impaired statutes to consolidate and
(SB 1212   conform offenses relating to operating a vehicle while

 
 
SD2)       using an intoxicant.  Makes conforming amendments.

HB 1763    RELATING TO BICYCLES                          TIA, JDC
HD2 SD1    Requires bicycle riders under 18 to wear a bicycle
        helmet.  (SD1)

their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol,
24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if
less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Judiciary Committee

to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 1-800-586-6659, at least
24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to
whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the
hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
