                                     H.D. 1

Honorable Calvin K.Y. Say
Speaker, House of Representatives
Twentieth State Legislature
Regular Session of 2000
State of Hawaii

Sir:

Your Committee on Judiciary and Hawaiian Affairs, to which
was referred H.C.R. No. 74, H.D. 1, entitled:

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION URGING THE DEPARTMENT OF THE
ATTORNEY GENERAL AND THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE TO CONDUCT AN
INVESTIGATION INTO THE "PETER BOY" KEMA CASE,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this resolution is to urge the Department of
the Attorney General and the Department of Justice to conduct an
investigation into the "Peter Boy" Kema case.

A concerned individual testified in support of the measure.

Your Committee finds that despite investigation by the
Hawaii county police department, there has been no apparent
progress in the case and no resolution of the question as to the
whereabouts of Peter Boy.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Judiciary and Hawaiian Affairs that is attached to
this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose
of H.C.R. No. 74, H.D. 1, and recommends its adoption.
