                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS.


BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  Chapter 457B, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
 
 2 amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated
 
 3 and to read as follows:
 
 4      "�457B-    Continuing education; requirement for license
 
 5 renewal.  (a)  Any licensed nursing home administrator seeking a
 
 6 nursing home administrator license renewal shall first satisfy
 
 7 the minimum continuing education requirements which shall be
 
 8 established by the director by rules adopted pursuant to chapter
 
 9 91.
 
10      (b)  The director may contract the services of a private
 
11 entity qualified to either provide for the continuing education
 
12 of nursing home administrators or test nursing home
 
13 administrators in their comprehension of continuing education
 
14 curriculum, or both.
 
15      (c)  The director may assess a continuing education fee to
 
16 offset any costs associated with administering the continuing
 
17 education requirements under this section."
 
18      SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed.
 
19 New statutory material is underscored.
