MILITARY AIR AMBULANCE SERVICE TO RECEIVE RECOGNITION
The Military Assistance to Safety and Traffic (MAST), an emergency medical assistance agreement between the 25th Infantry Division, U.S. Army - Hawaii and the City & County of Honolulu will be presented with certificates and a House Resolution on Monday, March 15, 1999, in House Chambers beginning at noon.
"This is one of the truly unsung and heroic efforts that deserves public appreciation," said Rep. Nestor Garcia (D - Waipahu, Crestview), Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Military Affairs, who authored the House Resolution. "In Hawaii, MAST assists military and civilians alike and flies as many as 350 medical evacuation missions a year -- at no cost to the taxpayers of this state."
Several MAST crew members will be presented with certificates from House members Rep. Sol Kaho`ohalahala, Rep. Iris Ikeda Catalani, Rep. Sylvia Luke, Rep. Terry Nui Yoshinaga; and Rep. Marilyn Lee.
