SB 1314    RELATING TO RETIREMENT BENEFITS FOR       CPN/WLH, WAM
        TRUSTEES OF THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS
        Includes the trustees of the Office of Hawaiian
        Affairs, as salaried elected state officials, in the
        State's retirement benefit programs, including the
        Employees' Retirement System and Public Employees
        Health Fund, if a trustee opts to participate.


        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

FOR THE CPN/WLH JOINT HEARING ONLY:  Persons wishing to testify
should submit 35 copies of their testimony to the committee
clerk, Room 218, State Capitol, 24-hours prior to the hearing.

SB 455     CULTURAL IMPACT STATEMENTS                    WLH, WAM
        Amends the environmental impact statement law to
        require the preparation of native Hawaiian cultural
        impact statements.


 
SB 457     RELATING TO NATIVE HAWAIIANS                  WLH, WAM
        Exempts native Hawaiians from fees for vital
        statistics certificates if certificates are required
        by law to verify ancestry.

SB 1303    RELATING TO THE REVIEW OF THE SALARIES OF     WLH, WAM
        THE TRUSTEES OF THE OFFICE OF HAWAIIAN AFFAIRS
        Re-starts the four-year cycle for the process to
        review the salaries of the trustees of the Office of
        Hawaiian Affairs.

SB 453     RELATING TO HOMESTEAD LEASES                  WLH, WAM
        Changes homestead lease amounts to $1.  Eliminates
        cash freehold agreements.

SB 465     RELATING TO ABANDONED PROPERTY                WLH, JDC
        Requires OHA to be made a party to all actions to
        quiet title to lands where escheat is an issue.

SB 462     RELATING TO PUBLIC TRUST LANDS                WLH, WAM
        Adds definition of ceded lands and Hawaiian lands to
        laws relating to agriculture, agribusiness development
        corp., and public lands.  Requires OHA to be a
        signatory to all transfers, dispositions, sales, and
        conveyances of Hawaiian lands.

        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.

FOR THE WLH COMMITTEE HEARING ONLY:  Persons wishing to testify
should submit 25 copies of their testimony to the committee
clerk, Room 218, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. 

Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to
the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659
(toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the
hearing.  When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is
being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the
required number of copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
