        Targets the sale of tobacco to minors in order to
        reduce sales; established a youth smoking intervention
        task force in each county; reduces the illegal sales
        of untaxed cigarettes.  (KAWAMOTO, et al)

S.B. 1385  RELATING TO IMPAIRED DRIVERS            TIA/HHS,JDC
        Permits testing of person's blood or urine for drug
        content following collision.  Provides immunity to
        person withdrawing blood for testing of drugs.
        Includes schedule V controlled substances within

        EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
        Provides funding to meet the collective bargaining
        costs for emergency ambulance personnel employed by

 
        the City and County of Honolulu and parity wage and
        salary differentials of emergency ambulance personnel
        employed by private firms under contract to the State
        of Hawaii providing emergency ambulance service in the

S.B. 1612  MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO STUDY THE FEASIBILITY OF
        CREATING A LOOKOUT AT WAIMEA BAY ON KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY
        ON THE ISLAND OF OAHU

        Appropriates $300,000 to study the feasibility of
        creating a lookout at Waimea Bay on Kamehameha Highway
        on the island of Oahu.  (BUNDA, et al)

SCR 13   SUPPORTING CONTINUING EFFORTS TO DEVELOP HILO'S
SR 4    BAYFRONT                                TIA/ECD,WAM
        Urges the Department of Land and Natural Resources to
        initiate collaborative efforts with Hawaii County and
        private landowners to create a bayfront beach park and

SCR 20   URGING THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS TO EXPAND AND MAKE
        PERMANENT THE TEMPORARY VISA WAIVER PROGRAM
        ESTABLISHED UNDER THE IMMIGRATION CONTROL AND REFORM
        ACT OF 1986                                 TIA/ECD
        Members of Hawaii's Congressional Delegation are urged
        to exert efforts to make the visa waiver program
        permanent and adding Taiwan and South Korea to the

S.B. 348 RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION                  TIA,WAM
SD 1    Permits a county to establish towing company fees
        within its jurisdiction.  Repeals the drop-dead date
        of Act 138, Session Laws of Hawaii 1998, which would
        have repealed the current maximum allowable towing
        company fees and the credit card and ATM payment

        Permits the visual monitoring of storm water runoff by

indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
