HB 1471    RELATING TO ELECTIONS                         JDC, WAM
HD1        Extends the sunset date of Act 27, Special Session
        Laws of Hawaii 1995 to June 30, 2001. 

HB 1469    RELATING TO ELECTIONS                              JDC
        Broadens the avenues by which a party qualifies as a
        political party for election ballot purposes.

HB 71      RELATING TO ELECTIONS                              JDC
HD2        Amends campaign spending and disclosure laws related
        to contributions made to committees for ballot issues;
        limits contributions by a candidate's immediate family
        to $50,000; amends the dates on which preliminary
        reports must be filed with the commission and repeals
        short form reporting; exempts violators of campaign
        contribution and expenditure laws from administrative
        fines and criminal prosecution upon payment of
        penalties imposed by the commission. 

HB 72      RELATING TO ELECTIONS                              JDC
HD2        Amends the state campaign spending laws concerning the
        voluntary expenditure limit and public matching fund
        program. 

HB 165     RELATING TO ELECTIONS                              JDC
HD1        Amends the definition of contribution to include gifts
        to committees; provides that political parties shall
        be subject to the same contribution limits applicable
        to persons and other entities. 

HB 1431    RELATING TO PUBLIC FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE STATEMENTS JDC
        Requires financial disclosure (not the dollar amount)
        of members of the board of regents, board of land and

 
        natural resources, the board of agriculture, and the
        Hawaiian homes commission.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies of their
testimony to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
