HB 562   RELATING TO MEASUREMENT STANDARDS          ECD, CPN
SD1     Provides additional labeling requirements for
        macadamia nuts.
        (Companion Bill: SB 480)

HB 328   RELATING TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE                HHS, CPN
HD1 SD1  Expands alcohol and drug abuse treatment coverage to
        physicians who are board certified in psychiatry and
        with additional qualifications. 

HB 622   RELATING TO HEALTH INSURANCE               HHS, CPN
HD2     Provides health insurance coverage of mammograms: (1)
        annually for women aged 40 and older; or (2) earlier
        if recommended by a physician. (Companion Bill: SB 818
        SD2) 

HB 1277  RELATING TO WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITIES LRE, CPN
HD1     Excludes from definition of public utility any
        facility that reclaims wastewater provided that at
        least 10 per cent of the wastewater processed is used
        by a state or county agency.  (Companion Bill: SB 1429
        SD1 HD1)

HB 1361  RELATING TO CHARTER TOUR OPERATORS         ECD, CPN
HD2 SD1  Requires travel agencies operating charter tours to
        provide evidence of financial ability to perform
        contractural obligations and periodic financial
        reports; greater regulator supervision of travel
        agencies operating charter tours by the State,
        including enhanced authority to conduct audits and
        examinations.  (Companion Bill: SB 1513 SD1) 

 


 
HB 1401  RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE TOWING           TIA, CPN
HD2 SD1  Requires towing businesses to have insurance coverage
        for towed motor vehicles during towing and storage and
        to properly identify their towing vehicles; repeals
        drop-dead provision of Act 138, SLH 1998; allows suit
        against the towing company without insurance for
        $1,000, or three-fold damages suffered, whichever is
        greater.  (Companion Bill: SB 973 SD1)
