The  following  bills  are  companion  measures  to  Senate bills
previously  heard  by   the   committee.     Identical  testimony
previously heard need not be re-submitted.  


HB 170   RELATING TO LONG-TERM CARE TAX BENEFITS     CPN,WAM
HD2     Creates an income tax  deduction for an individual for
        payment of long-term care insurance premiums.  (HD2)


HB 326   RELATING TO HEALTH INSURANCE                CPN,WAM
HD1     Requires health insurance  coverage  for medical foods
        and  low-protein  modified   food   products  for  the
        treatment of inborn error of metabolism.  (HD1)


HB 743   RELATING TO ADVANCED PRACTICE REGISTERED    CPN,WAM
HD3     NURSES
        Requires  coverage  and  equitable  reimbursement  for
        advanced  practice  registered  nurses  in  all health
        insurance policies,  contracts,  plans and agreements.
        Includes advanced  practice  registered  nurses in the
        definition  of  medical  care,  services,  or supplies
        under the Worker's Compensation law.  (HD3)


HB 1067  RELATING TO INSURANCE                       CPN,WAM
HD2     Prescribes minimum  continuing  education  in approved
        subjects for those in  the insurance industry licensed
        by the DCCA.  (HD2)


HB 1071  RELATING TO THE INSURANCE CODE              CPN,WAM

 


 
       HD1     Exempts the Insurance  Division's staff attorneys from
                  State civil service laws.  (HD1)
       
       
       HB 792   RELATING TO BAIL BONDS                          CPN
       HD1     Exempts bail  bond  rates  from  insurance rate filing
                  requirements.
       
       
       HB 1064  RELATING TO HAWAII HURRICANE RELIEF FUND BONDS CPN,WAM
       HD1     Extends authorization for  the  Director of Finance to
                  issue  up  to  $200  million  in  reimbursable general
                  obligation bonds through fiscal year 2000-2001.  (HD1)
       
       
       HB 1623  RELATING TO CAPTIVE INSURANCE                   CPN
       HD1     Expands the definition  of  captive insurance company,
                  creates five  classes  of  captive insurance companies
                  with specified  capital  or  surplus requirements, and
                  exempts  newly   authorized   categories   of  captive
                  insurance  companies  from   National  Association  of
                  Insurance  Commissioners  risk-based  capital  reports
                  filings.  (HD1)
       
       
       HB 1624  RELATING TO CAPTIVE INSURANCE               CPN,WAM
       HD2     Authorizes license and renewal  fees and other fees of
                  captive insurance companies to be set by the insurance
                  commissioner.  (HD2)
