                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO TRAFFIC LAW ENFORCEMENT.
 


BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  The legislature intends that this Act
 
 2 effectively repeal the decriminalization program implemented
 
 3 under Act 214, Session Laws of Hawaii 1993.  Accordingly, the
 
 4 purpose of this Act is to repeal the decriminalization of traffic
 
 5 violations.
 
 6      SECTION 2.  Chapter 291D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
 
 7 repealed.
 
 8      SECTION 3.  The sections of the Hawaii Revised Statutes that
 
 9 were amended or repealed by Act 214, Session Laws of Hawaii 1993,
 
10 are reenacted in the form in which they appeared on June 30,
 
11 1994.
 
12      SECTION 4.  Section 286-128, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
 
13 reenacted in the form in which it appeared on December 31, 1994.
 
14      SECTION 5.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 1999.
