Senator Ihara represents Hawai`i's 9th Senatorial District and has served in the Hawai`i State Senate since 1994. Ihara represented Palolo, Kaimuki, Kapahulu, and Diamond Head communities as a State Representative from 1986 to 1994.

Born on April 19, 1951, Senator Ihara is a graduate from Mid Pacific Institute and received a B.A. in Liberal Studies from the University of Hawai`i.&lt;br&gt;
