Representative Rose Martinez migrated to Hawaii 38 years ago and since then, she has been involved in many community activities & organizations - serving as a passionate, dedicated & resourceful community leader. Her experiences & commitment eventually culminated in her role as the District 40 Representative. Representative Martinez believes that a community's ability to thrive & succeed is essentially a product of the cohesive teamwork, collaborative efforts & mutual respect of its leaders & constituents.

Representative Rose Martinez was elected to serve with the Thirty Second Legislature of 2023.

Rosebella Locquiao Ellazar Martinez hails from Bayaoas, Urdaneta City, Philippines. She is the fourth daughter among eight children. She is the mother to Tristan (Boeing design engineer), a grandmother of 2, and a leader in the Filipino community. With the dedicated support of her husband of 36 years - Flor (retired information officer from the Philippine Government Dept of Foreign Affairs & current KNDI morning radio program host for over 30 years) - she has been well prepared to serve as an effective advocate & legislator for her district & the greater Hawaii community.

In her spare time, Representative Martinez also enjoys reading, participating in the Linglingay Hula Dance Troupe, ballroom & line dancing, swimming & hiking.
