Measure Title: RELATING TO MENTAL HEALTH.
Report Title: Mental Health; Admission; Examination; Treatment; Notice; Hearings; Involuntary Hospitalization; Assisted Community Treatment
Description: Entitles designated family members and other interested persons of a person having a mental health emergency to: notice of emergency admission, examination, and hospitalization. Entitles designated family members and other interested persons to the option to be present in the courtroom for a hearing on a petition for involuntary hospitalization or assisted community treatment and the option to receive copies of hearing transcripts or recordings, unless the court determines that the interests of justice require otherwise. Requires notice of discharge and voluntary inpatient treatment when forensic and non-forensic patients are civilly committed to individuals specified in the order of commitment. Requires the court to adjourn or continue a hearing on a petition for involuntary hospitalization or assisted community treatment for failure to timely notify designated persons, with certain exceptions. Takes effect on 1/7/2059. (SD2)
