      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.

Authorizes pharmacies to accept the return of any prescription drug for disposal via collection receptacles or mail-back programs.  Prohibits pharmacies from redispensing returned prescription drugs or from accepting returned prescription drugs in exchange for cash or credit.  Requires the pharmacist-in-charge to ensure that only authorized reverse distributors acquire prescription drugs collected via collection receptacles or mail-back programs.

RELATING TO COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS.

Requires the Department of Health to establish a certification process, oversight board, and reimbursement process for services performed by community health workers.  Requires the Department of Health, supported by a task force of stakeholders, to provide a report to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the start of the 2022 legislative session.

RELATING TO GLASS CONTAINERS.

Increases the advance disposal fee collected on glass containers to five cents.  Removes the exemption for glass deposit beverage containers.

RELATING TO SMOKING.

Allows the governor to order mitigating measures including prohibiting smoking in multi-unit residences during an emergency order to stay at home.
