RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION.

Requires the DOT, after consultation with the counties, to adopt rules prescribing uniform standards and specifications for all official traffic control devices placed pursuant to the Statewide Traffic Code.  Specifies the factors the DOT and the counties must take into account when setting maximum speed limits on a road.  (HB756 HD1)

RELATING TO MOVIE THEATERS.

Requires a movie theater to provide at least two showings per week per movie offered with open movie captioning.  Removes the option for a movie theater to provide eyewear to fulfill the open movie captioning requirement.  Makes the open captioning requirement permanent by repealing the sunset date of Act 39, Session Laws of Hawaii 2015.  (SD1)

Amends the mandatory inscription for civil identification cards to conform with the inscription currently in use.  (HB1053 HD1)

Makes inclusion of an affidavit application for voter registration mandatory for all driver's license and identification card applications.  Automatically registers each applicant who elects to register for voting.  Requires sharing of information among the counties, DOT, and election personnel.  (HB1217 HD1)
